Teixeira became the oldest fighter to win a UFC title when he knocked down Jan Blachowicz in October, and the Brazilian was on the verge of a successful first defense in Singapore.
In a thrilling contest that some fans have called the greatest light-heavyweight hunk of all time, Teixeira was narrowly leading on both judges’ scorecards heading into the fifth and final round.

But in the final 30 seconds, Prochazka left fans stunned when he forced a grounded submission to mark a new era in the 205-pound division.
He also became the first Czech fighter to win a UFC title, with fans quickly taking to social media to express their disbelief at both the contest and the result.

Prochazka, who practices the moral code of samurai culture, bushido, has now won 13 contests on the rebound after his dramatic last-minute win over Teixeira.
“It’s amazing and I’m happy,” he said in the Octagon after his latest triumph. “It was a real war. Glover is a true warrior.
Teixeira, meanwhile, is already calling for a rematch after losing his title just to the death on Saturday night.
The 42-year-old simply wrote on Twitter: ‘Rematch?? @jiri_bjp @danawhite @ufc’.
