Koei Tecmo has announced the Japanese and Asian release date of Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires to its Tokyo Game Show 2021 stream. The game will be available in Japanese and Chinese on December 23, 2021.
Producer Akihiro Suzuki introduced new gameplay footage featuring originally created characters. One of them is an older version of Zhao Yun, made with exclusive parts from the game’s early purchase incentives. The footage also included cutscenes that could feature any character, including those created by the players.
Suzuki also showed a preview of Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires‘character creation mode. The pictures showed the new RGB coloring feature that players can apply to each part of the costume separately. He also confirmed the return of the agent replacement system. Using this system, players can replace existing officers – both unique and generic – with their own created characters. The producer previously revealed more returning features, such as child marriage and inheritance.
Towards the end of the segment, Akihiro Suzuki expressed interest in releasing a demo version of the game. However, he did not confirm the demo release date, so he will announce it later.
Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC in Japan and East Asia on December 23, 2021. Koei Tecmo will announce details of the Western English version later.
