AtriCure (NSDQ:ATRC) released its first Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report this month which highlights the company’s corporate responsibility and sustainability initiatives.
The Mason, Ohio-based cardiac device company touted several 2021 ESG achievements, including:
– Achieve gender parity on the Board of Directors to better align with patient diversity;
– Launch of diversity and inclusion education within the company;
– Increased volunteer time off for employees during the peak months of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Our ESG report is the final step towards our goal of reducing Afib’s global impact and healing the lives of those affected,” Chairman and CEO Michael Carrel said in a press release. “In line with our core values of caring for patients’ lives, empowering our people and collaborating with our partners, we are committed to operating sustainably and improving the well-being of the communities around us. This report details many achievements as well as additional initiatives we are undertaking to have a positive and lasting impact on society.
Corporate responsibility reports are written to address corporate stakeholders who are interested in ESG-related information. AtriCure’s ESG report includes data metrics such as the gender diversity of its leadership and workforce and the racial diversity of its corporate governance. It also describes some of the environmental sustainability efforts it has undertaken or plans to establish, including monitoring energy and water use and implementing processes to shore up these utilities while now efficiency.
