Migration

I have spent the last two years on Nicola and have good memories, but I will move to Marin. If you are my new neighbor, please say hello to me.

Marin doesn’t have a tagline? It’s sad…

Due to this migration, this website will down off and on for the next few days. I think I will close Mate Tips now. I’m sure that the prime time for TextMate is not ready in Japan, but I’m also sure there are already many people who use TextMate as a development tool on a daily basis. I hope we will see a Japanese community for TextMate discussing Japanese (double-byte), TeX and any other Japanese-related matters. As I’m proudly jobless right now and spending most of my time for getting a job, I don’t think I can keep the website up-to-date with upcoming news.

(Note: You should not start a sentence with “due to”. It will piss off old people. I mean, chronologically-challenged people. Avoid the usage in formal writing. I’m doing formal writing in both Japanese and English a lot these days.)

Japanese Blog Discontinued

I discontinued my Japanese blog so that I can have more time to write in English. Having a separate blog for almost the same topics is always a trade-off. As spending writing the same topic for two languages is a sheer waste of time, I decided to choose whichever I‘m comfortable with.

Writing a Japanese yielded differnt types of visitors. Before starting to write in Japanese, less than 10 percent of all the visitors were from Japan. But now more than 30 percent of the visitors are from Japan, though there’s no way to tell the nationality of users. This trend has been fueled with my very short rantings in the Japanese blog.

I will spend more time on writing and developing on this website. No finai decision was made. I consider hierarchical categories and tags. As I write about more various subjects, I’ll have a feed for each category/tag. (Yes, I already have the feature, but that’s not as visible as I expected to be.) Some are interested in Mac software, some are in software business, some are in user experience, some are in web apps and others are in my personal stories. Although I loathe tag clouds, I may experiment it for a short time.

Some seem not to prefer e-mail for casual communication. You can always find me at Facebook and Twitter.

I know I need a better pic of me.

Some Updates on Mate Tips (matetips.info)

Although I haven’t updated this blog much, I’m adding some contents in Mate Tips. If you are interested in TextMate and understand Japanese, please check http://matetips.info.

Your feedback is always welcome. So far, nobody gave me a comment or reaction. Probably, nobody is checking the website.

A New Website on Tips about TextMate in Japanese

When I was browsing the web this morning, I accidentally found a cool new website written in Japanese. That’s a website dealing exclusively with TextMate and Japanese.

The resource about TextMate for Japanese users is scarce. This site intends to fill in the gap between what’s happening for users who are capable of understanding English and users whose English is unsatisfactory to reach the level of communicating in English.

Check out Mate Tips.

Update: A new domain taken at http://matetips.info, all the contents were moved there.

Takaaki Starts Tumblelog: TakaakiBlog.com

I started my tumblelog. Head over to http://TakaakiBlog.com

From Wikipedia:

A tumblelog is a variation of a blog, that favors short-form, mixed-media posts over the longer editorial posts frequently associated with blogging. Common post formats found on tumblelogs include links, photos, quotes, dialogues, and video. Unlike blogs, this format is frequently used to share the author’s creations, discoveries, or experiences without providing a commentary.

I couldn’t come up with a nice domain name.
